And now........................for something a bit different.
I decided not to make a Mother's Day card this year, instead I went for this cute little bag which I found the instructions for in a magazine. I printed the template onto some floral cardstock then cut out. The handle was done separately with pale pink pearlised card - not sure it shows up particularly well in the photo.
The large flower is made from crinkled tissue paper, four layers for the outside petals and three layers for the smaller ones. I inked the edges then added some stickles glitz. The centre is a brad which is pushed through a couple of pieces of lace then I glitzed that too. The flower is actually attached to the bag closure and lifts up.
This was so much fun to make and everything I used was from my stash. Not sure yet what I'll put in the bag but I think it will have to be something yummy as my Mum certainly has a sweet tooth!
I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Another sketch
This time from Cute Card Thursday
And this is my card for #157. Another Easter one as I still have a few more to make.
The cute little image is 'Bunny Love', a digi freebie from Meljen's Designs which I coloured with my Prismcolor pencils, and while the bunnies aren't holding easter eggs I thought they fitted in well on the nesties labels four mounted above the easter egg paper that I found in my stash.
Right now I'm obsessed with making my own flowers and I'm more than happy with how these ones turned out. There are so many tutuorials out there one is spoilt for choice.
This card fits a couple of other challenges too:

G'day to everyone on this very hot Thursday, our weather here in Queensland Australia has reverted back to Summer instead of Autumn and we currently have the aircon and ceiling fans running in the interests of keeping cool baby! Too hot to go outside - poor doggies will miss their walk again until this evening when hopefully it will have cooled down somewhat.....so, on with the crafting I guess!
I have quite a few Easter cards to make because not only do I make them for family I also make them for our lovely neighbours - none of them are into crafting so I always receive a lovely response from them all which makes it all so worthwhile.
Anyways, my card today follows the sketch over at The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges #7 and is also entered into the following challenges:
The Crafty Pad #113 Use a digi
Paper Sundaes #61 Embossing
The delightful image on my card was a freebie from Doodle Pantry but unsure of where the digi sentiment originated.
I feel I need more practice with my Prismacolor pencils so used those again to colour. The papers are from my stash as is the ribbon and I used 'Divine Swirls' CB embossing folder for the panel.
Thanks for stopping by here to check it all out.

Buttons
I've used one of their dear little images 'Just one more' which I have coloured with my Prismacolor pencils which I'm still getting used to. I've been using Copic markers for quite a while now but thought it would be nice to have a different medium to 'play with' and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.....lots more practice needed though I think?
The papers are from my stash as is the dark chocolate coloured ribbon and the buttons.
The sentiment is a digi freebie from Doodle Pantry.

Totally Gorjuss #72 Button it!
Totally Papercrafts #58 Add buttons

Gift box
Hi everybody and happy Sunday to you all. The weather today is rather unsettled, sunny one minute then showers the next, makes it very challenging to take the dogs walkies, not that they mind the rain it just makes the jaunt a bit more of a chore when we have to wash and dry them once we return. Still, cannot deny them their walk as they do enjoy it so much and we take ours twice a day. I pity those poor pooches that don't get to go out.
So, in between the rain I did some crafting - well, what else would I do!
This is a bit of a change from making a card and as Easter approaches it will be handy to have little gift boxes to put yummy goodies in.
This is my Twist Top Box and there are plenty of tutorials out there on the web but I can't remember where I found this one. It was fun to put together and the 'twistie' bit on top wasn't as difficult to manage as they said it would be, just took a little bit of perseverance. I also found instructions how to make two sizes smaller - very handy for smaller yummy things!
The paper is from my stash as are the flowers and gems and the foliage is die-cut. The 4 apertures have acetate over them so the contents (which will probably be small easter eggs) can be seen. I'm going to give this to my Mum along with her BIG easter egg lol.
I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Allsorts - Week 95 Make a gift box
Saturday Challenge #126 Anything but a card
CYDA #16 For Mum or special lady

Hi all I've been AWOL haven't I. I haven't posted anything here for ages because I've been a tad unwell and just couldn't face it all and have been resting. But there's only so much resting one can do then I start to get bored and have to craft again.
One of my neighbours did me a good turn on Tuesday so to show my gratitude I made a little gift box for her and filled it with some yummy little brownies.

I think I got the box template on the SCS site and it was very easy to make. The image is 'Nadine' from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps coloured with Copic markers.
To finish it off I made the little flowers and dusted them with some Stickles.
My neighbour loved it and also loved the brownies she said even though she's on a diet! Diet? what's that?

Well Easter is just around the corner so I was thinking I had better start creating stuff for friends, neighbours etc so this is my first cab off the rank so to speak following the above sketch at Critter Sketch Challenges
#55
Quite a simple card really which made it fast to put together, the delightful image is 'Easter Exchange' from Penny Black stamped onto a nesties sml oval. The papers and ribbon are from my stash. The cute little easter eggs I cut out from a picture, they were just the right size for the top and bottom corners.
This card fits a few other challenges also.

Today it's a sketch challenge from Teddy Stampers #31
I'm not sure why but just about everything in this card is blue, wasn't really planned that way - just how it turned out.
The stamp is one of a set that came as a freebie with a magazine way back and is coloured with Pebbles chalks and Prismacolor pencils. The teddy paper also was a freebie and I thought it went well as a background and was a great opportunity to use some of my stuff that I've had for ages like the blue gems and lilac buttons. The flowers are Prima.

New ribbon storage
Yesterday I decided to do something about my ribbon that was stored in my PULLEZ bag. It just wasn't working; besides not knowing exactly how much was actually inside the bag I found that it was getting more difficult to actually pull ribbon out because it was getting tangled even though the makers say it won't!
This is what I had.
And this is how my ribbon looks now. I cut pieces of cardboard and simply wound my ribbon onto it. I kept all the same colours together on separate cards and the pieces 30cm or shorter in length I placed inside a zip lock bag.......I actually used this idea from another blog that was posted over at
Really Reasonable Ribbon who have an organisation week going on until March 16th with some wonderful prizes so thankyou to whoever it was 'cause I cannot remember lol.
My lace lengths are wound around the cardboard insert of a loo roll and secured with a pin. The whole lot (and I don't have a huge amount at this time - but working on it!) is stored inside a box that I already had.
To ensure that the ribbon would be visible I cut a rectangle into the lid and lined it with acetate then used some narrow lengths of ribbon around the edges to give a neater finish.
I'm so much happier with this, everything is tidier and easy to access now.

Time for another challenge, there are so many out there!
Today my card features a cute image from c.c. Designs 'Birgitta on a Tree stump' which I coloured with Copics and added some glitter to the little spots on the toadstools and the centres of the flowers - not really able to be seen unless the card is held and moved under some light......but it's there anyway!
The ribbon and paper are from my stash as is the sentiment tile.
I would like to enter this in two challenges which are:
Scrap Creations - Kids
Catch the Bug - Anything goes.

Ribbon
Ribbon organization give-aways.
This is how I currently store my limited quantity of ribbon......in a PULLEZ Ribbon Purse which I bought a year ago. The main problem with this is that you do not know just how much length you have available unless you pull the whole lot (of the selected colour) out......then you have to re thread it again. I need a new system.
The other snag with this is that the bag itself doesn't sit up straight, it sags - big time...maybe it's because mine is not completely full but..................? I'm really quite unhappy with this present system!
Really Reasonable Ribbon are having lots of give-aways. Why not hop on over to check out the ribbon organisations they're offering as prizes.

My second post today is a 'get well' card and features the cute little witch doctor image called 'Medicine Man' and the other image is 'Bubbling Brew' - both from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I just love these stamps and reckon this card would give anyone not too sick a little chuckle and maybe lift their spirits.
I coloured both images with Copics, framed the cauldron, die cut some foliage 'Branch with leaves' by Sizzix out of hand made paper then cut out medicine man and mounted him up with dimensionals. The flower is by Prima and the papers are from my stash.
I'm entering this card in
